METHOD LIQUIBAR (2017)
A minimal packaging concept for Method. Liquibar combines the form language of a traditional soap bar while highlighting Method’s unique colors of their liquid cleaning formula.
Simplifying Material Variety
Nozzles are intricate mechanisms that contain multiple plastics, seals, and metals sandwiched together. It requires multiple industrial processes to manufacture and makes it difficult for them to be recycled.
Maximizing Volume Per Weight
The Liquidbar utilizes over 60% less materials by weight while holding similar volume than a conventional soap pump. The efficient packaging also reduces the material selection down to two by only consisting of a PET plastic shell and a small silicone flow valve.
Intuitive Handling
Squeeze the thin plastic shell to dispense soap from the silicone flow nozzle. The form rests comfortably in your hand like a traditional bar of soap.
The proof of concept relied on a silicone flow valve in a cleaning product from Oxo.
